It depends on what's getting worked on but generally non restrictive clothing makes for an easier treatment. If you're getting treatment for your legs then wearing or bringing a pair of shorts can help.
Appopriate underware is important (for men & women) in case we need you to remove some clothing for treatment.
Women: A regular bra with a clasp at the rear is generally easier for us. This allows you to keep it on during your treatment if you wish but for us to easily undo it temporarily while you're laying face down if we need access to your back.
If we do need you to disrobe, a gown and draping towels are provided.
- Consultation Form (Attach)
You can fill this out in clinic, of if you want to be super efficient feel free to download it and fill it out prior. You can either print and fill out the form, or do it on your computer and email it direct to us.
- Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy
We do have a strict cancellation policy in place at Biomechanics Healthcare
When you make a booking with us you'll get a text reminder the day prior in which you can confirm your appointment. If we don't hear from you then we'll call you just to make sure.
If you can attend 10 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out the necessary paperwork (if you haven't already done so) that will allow us to process everything efficiently and not cut in to your treatment time.
Depending on the treatment you're getting you will be introduced to your treating practitioner who will then conduct a thorough examination, advise you of what's wrong, begin treatment and formulate a treatment plan consisting of anticipated treatments, exercises, any rehab equipment needed or referrals to other practitioners.
When our practitioners consult with you for your first appointment, we'll formulate a treatment plan which we anticipate will get you your best results. We prefer these ongoing appointments to be booked in advance so that you can get the times you want and not be disappointed if you can't book an appointment at short notice. It also allows our admin to process your future payments quicker so there's less lining up and you can exit the clinic quicker.
All our linen is provided to you clean & washed chemical free. Any needled used for Acupuncture or Dry Needling are desposable and never reused. We use disposable headrest covers. Hands are washed or disinfected between patients.
If you have any scans or reports from previous consultations please bring them along.
Doctor's referrals are not essential for private treatment at Biomechanics Healthcare.
However, if you are intending to claim through Worker's Compensation, Third Party, DVA or Medicare Enhanced Primary Care/Chronic Disease Management Program, a doctor's referral is necessary to begin.
Please phone 9527 4099 for an appointment, or make an online appointment request and we will contact you in office hours. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and preferred physiotherapist. An Initial appointment will involve a brief health questionnaire and a thorough musculo-skeletal examination. A diagnosis will be made that will be thoroughly explained and discussed with you, including likely duration and frequency of treatment. Longer consultation times are available if you have two areas requiring treatment, so please ask our receptionists if you require some extra time.
Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, cheque Mastercard or Visa. HICAPS and EFTPOS facilities are available at the front desk for automatic claiming through your private health fund.
This practice is able to directly bill for Worker's Compensation and Third Party Compensation claims and for Department of Veteran's Affairs clients once the required information is provided to our reception staff.
Please notify reception if you are unable to attend your next scheduled appointment as soon as you are able. If an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee of $45.00 may be charged.
