Strength & Conditioning
Hi, I’m Rick and I'm a qualified Osteopath in Cronulla who has over 25 years’ experience in training, athletic conditioning, pain management and rehabilitation.
I started out my career studying strength & conditioning with the CHEK Institute. This led to me opening a chain of gyms in the north of England tailored for martial arts and performance training for boxing, rugby and golf.
I became interested in Osteopathy when I found myself referring my clients to the Osteopath who worked at the gym.
Clients who had long term injuries that were affecting their training would return pain free and stronger than before.
Osteopath intrigued me - imagine offering clients a holistic approach to training, rehabilitation and performance. It felt like the complete package.
With this idea fresh in my mind, I headed to University and in 2007 I graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London. I even impressed myself by gaining an honors in Bachelor of Science degree in Osteopathic Medicine and a Diploma in Naturopathy. I then went on to study a Master of Science in Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation at St Mary’s University.
Upon graduating, I ran two Osteopathic and Rehabilitation Clinics in Central London. The clinics worked with the general public as well as professional rugby teams, dancers, gymnasts, golfers and runners.
Understanding the importance of movement and its implications for treatment, exercise rehabilitation & sports performance, I went on to complete a fellowship with the renowned Gray Institute in the USA in 2014.
Following this I continued my studies with Z Health and the AMN Movement Academy which focused on the central nervous system and how it influences pain, movement and athletic performance.
I’ve found that by combining these modalities with my Osteopathic qualifications, I’m able to deliver a specialised treatment program for patients and clients.
In 2014, I moved to Hong Kong practicing as the Head Osteopath in a leading sports clinic, with a focus on movement and biomechanics for professional golfers. I had the great fortune to work with some exceptional biomechanics and golf coaches. With this experience I developed a performance package for golfers of all levels. This golf performance package, along with professional golf coaches resulted in some outstanding individual results. We would observe increases in range of movement, improved stability and more controlled power. All these improvements lead to improved direction and drive.
I’m now based in Cronulla, Sydney, and offer a unique approach to therapeutic intervention for various patient presentations. My treatment philosophy is to show my clients how to take control and understand their body. This empowers them to manage their pain, acute or chronic, and how to improve sporting limitations by simple and effective movements.

I’m a certified member of the Osteopathy Australia (OA) and I’m registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
